Lynch, a finalist for prestigious Bates scholarship
Apple Creek — Carleigh Lynch, a senior at Waynedale high school is now a finalist for the prestigious Roy S. Bates scholarship. This scholarship is one awarded to a Wayne County student athlete that displays qualities such as academic honor, athletic courage and integrity. Carleigh, of Fredericksburg, Ohio became one on a short list of Golden Bears to become a finalist for the scholarship award. Daughter of Jamie and Shaylyn Lynch, Carleigh has maintained high academic honors at Waynedale where she has participated in softball, soccer, cross country and a stat for the wrestling team. Patterson signs with Mount Union
Apple Creek, Ohio | Stephen Patterson signed his national letter of intent to the University of Mount Union Tuesday in the high school mezzanine. A 4 time WCAL champion, 4 time state qualifier and 3 time All-Ohioan, Patterson plans to study finance as a Purple Raider. Joining him were his parents, family, teammates, friends and coaches.

Golf Wins Sectional Tournament

Golf wins the WCAL
Waynedale golf clinched another WCAL title in an 18 hole league tournament held at the Chippewa Golf Course. Jordan Miller was the tournament medalist with a score of 75.
