    Apple Creek — Carleigh Lynch, a senior at Waynedale high school is now a finalist for the prestigious Roy S. Bates scholarship. This scholarship is one awarded to a Wayne County student athlete that displays qualities such as academic honor, athletic courage and integrity. Carleigh, of Fredericksburg, Ohio became one on a short list of Golden Bears to become a finalist for the scholarship award. Daughter of Jamie and Shaylyn Lynch, Carleigh has maintained high academic honors at Waynedale where she has participated in softball, soccer, cross country and a stat for the wrestling team.     Apple Creek, Ohio | Stephen Patterson signed his national letter of intent to the University of Mount Union Tuesday in the high school mezzanine. A 4 time WCAL champion, 4 time state qualifier and 3 time All-Ohioan, Patterson plans to study finance as a Purple Raider. Joining him were his parents, family, teammates, friends and coaches.
