Lynch, a finalist for prestigious Bates scholarship
Apple Creek — Carleigh Lynch, a senior at Waynedale high school is now a finalist for the prestigious Roy S. Bates scholarship. This scholarship is one awarded to a Wayne County student athlete that displays qualities such as academic honor, athletic courage and integrity. Carleigh, of Fredericksburg, Ohio became one on a short list of Golden Bears to become a finalist for the scholarship award.
Daughter of Jamie and Shaylyn Lynch, Carleigh has maintained high academic honors at Waynedale where she has participated in softball, soccer, cross country and a stat for the wrestling team. She has been accepted to The Ohio State University where she will attend class in the fall.
Although Carleigh has achieved the scholarship and finalist accolade, one of the student athletes will be chosen on Monday night of the 8.
